Unsteady Simulation and Mode Analysis of Disturbed Cylinder Flow

چکیده

Abstract The unsteady simulation of cylinder flow with inlet velocity disturbance is simulated and compared that without disturbance. POD adopted to analyze capture the dominant modes vortex street in wake. results show method efficient reconstructing field. When exists, number required reconstruct field accurately almost unchanged, but energy proportion each mode changes. larger frequency is, smaller shape vorticity magnitude slower generation speed is. If deviates too much from original field, effect will be shielded.

Parareal convergence for 2D unsteady flow around a cylinder

In this technical report we study the convergence of Parareal for 2D incompressible flow around a cylinder for different viscosities. Two methods are used as fine integrator: backward Euler and a fractional step method. It is found that Parareal converges better for the implicit Euler, likely because it under-resolves the fine-scale dynamics as a result of numerical diffusion.
